In Coup, you are the head of a powerful family in a corrupt Italian city-state, where influence is everything—and everyone has a hidden agenda. Use bluffing, deduction, and tactical maneuvering to outwit your rivals and seize control. But be warned: only one family will be left standing.

Every player starts with two hidden character cards representing their influence. Use these characters’ special powers—or pretend you can—to perform bold actions like stealing, assassinating, and blocking. Just don’t get caught in a lie… or you’ll lose one of your precious cards.

Key Characters:

• Duke: Tax three coins and block foreign aid.

• Assassin: Pay to eliminate another player’s influence.

• Contessa: Block assassination attempts.

• Captain: Steal coins or block theft.

• Ambassador: Exchange cards or block theft.

Optional Character Variant:

• Inquisitor (Kickstarter Edition Only): Examine or swap another player’s card—adds new layers of control and intimidation.
