Spirit Island is a cooperative, settler-destruction strategy game where players become powerful spirits of the land, each with their own unique elemental abilities. Set in an alternate-history world around A.D. 1700, you must defend your island home from colonizing Invaders spreading blight and destruction.

Work together with your fellow spirits and the Dahan, the local islanders, to grow your power, protect the land, and drive the Invaders from the island before their settlements overwhelm everything sacred.

Each turn, players simultaneously choose which power cards to play, paying energy to activate them. Matching your spirit’s elemental affinities can unlock bonus effects, while careful timing is essential as fast powers resolve before the Invaders act, and slow powers require planning ahead.

The Invaders expand in a semi-predictable pattern: they explore new lands, build towns and cities, and then ravage, bringing blight and attacking any Dahan present. As the game escalates, spirits spread their presence, gain stronger powers, and fight to turn the tide against colonization.
